Swimming is one of the best ways to cool off and enjoy the outdoors in Hong Kong, but you don’t have to venture far to find a great pool. Many of Hong Kong’s hotels have their own onsite pools that you can swim in with a drink or two. The best part is that hotel pools often come with a range of other services such as dining, spa and wellness activities, and stunning views.

There are 44 public swimming pools in Hong Kong. The majority of them are located in Kowloon and the New Territories, and they are operated by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD). Admission to public swimming pools is HK$17 per person on weekdays and HK$19 on weekends. Those with disabilities, above the age of 60, between 3 and 13, or full-time students can enjoy concessions for admission.

Whether you want to practice laps, splash around with the kids, or simply relax in the cool water, these hk pools are the perfect way to beat the heat this summer! And who knows, you might even pick up a few new strokes while you’re at it.

A few of the more popular pools include The Ritz Carlton’s rooftop infinity pool and the Central skyline-facing outdoor pool at the Conrad. The latter is only accessible to guests who stay at the luxury hotel through Klook, so you’ll have to book a room here if you want to experience this swanky pool. But once you’re there, you can take in the spectacular views of the city while cooling off in the water. The sleek indoor pool also features floor to ceiling windows and mirrored ceilings, making it feel like you’re floating in the clouds.

The swimming complex-cum-indoor games hall at Kowloon Park was completed in 1989 as a part of the redevelopment of the park and was designed by Derek Walker Associates. It was originally managed by the Urban Council, but with the dissolution of the Urban Council at the end of the millennium, management was transferred to LCSD.

Swimming is not only great for exercise, but it also has a number of health benefits. Studies have shown that it reduces stress, depression, and other mental illnesses. It can even help to boost your metabolism, which is why it’s a good idea to swim at least three times a week!

It’s important to check the LCSD website regularly for updates on the status of swimming pools, as they may close for maintenance or due to weather conditions. You can also contact a pool directly to see if they are open before you head out to swim. If you do, we recommend packing a swimsuit, towels, and sunscreen to ensure a fun and safe day at the pool!
